Practical conditions for your via ferrata outing
The necessary equipment
The practice of a sporting activity such as via ferrata requires the provision of working tools that meet standards, are verified and controlled.
So, in order to progress along the course in complete safety, we take care of providing you with the appropriate equipment.
The material supplied by Alteo:
At the meeting point, our guide will provide you with: a helmet as well as a harness with his carabiners.
Your personal outfit:
To fully enjoy the activity without discomfort, we recommend that you wear:
-
Comfortable sports clothing (shorts, T-shirt)
-
Closed shoes with basket-style laces (shoes that are firm to the feet, neither too new not to damage them nor too worn: the sole must be in good condition for better adhesion)
-
What to hydrate
In the summer season, we favor the practice of the via ferrata in the morning so as not to suffer the high temperatures of the early afternoon.
Anyway, we advise you to bring a small backpack (decathlon type) with a bottle of water inside to refresh and hydrate you.
You will benefit from an outdoor activity filled with unforgettable sensations and moments, so remember to immortalize everything by taking a camera. Do not panic if you do not have one, we offer it for rental, you just need to mention it when booking.
You can then slip it into your personal bag containing your drink. Do not hesitate to add a snack if you are hungry or need sugar. (cereal bar type)
Tip: Regarding additional equipment, some via-ferrata include numerous bars and reminders. The use of your hands will therefore be requested. For the most sensitive, you can wear a pair of gloves or mittens :)
How to choose your via ferrata course in the Hérault?
Our via-ferrata proposals in Herault
We do not recommend these activities for people with trauma to the shoulder, ankles, or visual or cognitive impairment.
All of the Hérault via ferrata courses are accessible regardless of your sporting level from 8 years old but assume that you are in good health and have a normal physical condition. Here are the criteria you can take into account when making your choice.
1. Age
Mostly accessible from 8 years old, some via-ferrata are more technical than others. They need to be older to understand some of the more difficult and sporty passages. It is recommended to gauge between the age variant and the physical fitness variant in order to know your abilities as well as possible.
2. According to the different levels and physical capacities
Indeed, if you are an amateur and you feel a little dizzy, we will not recommend the same route as a confirmed sportsman avid of strong sensations.
Itineraries are classified as very sporty, in particular using the strength of the arms. To make the most of it, choose an adapted route.
Are you intermediate? We will be able to juggle between different routes on some via.
3. Depending on the nature of the group and your desires
By the nature of the group, we mean, as a couple, family, friends. This will determine your needs and desires. It's up to you to choose whether you prefer a peaceful route with a view of the river or a more sporty route.
The values of Alteo Nature
Guides passionate about climbing
At Alteo Nature, guides are people we have gotten to know before being collaborators. Met through our shared passion for climbing, we also share our enthusiasm for living well together, nature and biodiversity.
You will certainly participate in an outdoor activity in complete safety, but above all in moments of exchange, sharing, and learning in joy and good humor.
Far from a factory spirit, we offer services in a small group of 10 people maximum. This is to promote better monitoring and good security for all participants.
Proud of the routes we offer, we will ask you to respect their charm and preserve them, taking care not to leave or destroy anything after your visit.

Alteo Nature guarantees
Qualified and qualified guides
Tourism being a sector more and more coveted by humans in search of “easy profit”. We recommend that you be vigilant about the companies you use. Some people claim to be monitors but do not necessarily have the required diplomas and insurance or the skills to supervise groups for such activities.
At Alteo Nature, our guides all have more than 10 years of experience and are graduates of State Climbing and Canyoning. (Diplomas visible on request by email).
We therefore assure you of safe outings with equipment that meets standards and is checked regularly.
